Photography

It appears that Grey did not have any particular interest in collecting photography.  Having been born before the invention of photography, photographic records of Grey himself exist only for the latter part of his career.

He did however entertain the photographer Daniel Mundy at his residence on Kawau Island around 1871.  The photographer documented the interior and exterior of Mansion House including a view of the drawing room where Grey sits surrounded by his books reading with his niece Annie Thorne George.
