This letter has reference to famous names such as Coleridge and Wordsworth, but for Grey it held more interest than the obvious. It mentions the attempt to relieve Badajoz during the Peninsular War. Sir George Grey’s father was killed in the battle of Badajoz around the time this letter was written.
