Mrs Hendre writes on behalf of the Auckland Women's Liberal League with regret at Sir George Grey's resignation from the New Zealand Parliament.  She acknowledges New Zealand's (especially women's) debt to Sir George Grey.

She sends a 'Notice of motion and resolution' passed by the Auckland Women's Liberal League 9 July 1895, to initiate and sustain a movement for the erection of a statue of Sir George Grey in Auckland.

Attached with the letter and the notice, is a draft copy of Grey's response to Mrs Hendre's letter.
